The Tumbling Girl
by Bridget Walsh
1876, London’s music halls. Minnie Ward’s friend has committed suicide. Police aren’t overly interested – apparently this sort of thing happens a lot. A private detective, Albert Easterbrook, is hired by the victim’s mother to investigate. Minnie forces her way into the investigation and, between them, Easterbrook and Ward open up a whole new setting of high class club-land and nobs and toffs. Also, we’re introduced to something I’d never heard of before – a Stanhope.
